Mid Century Ranch Home in Prime San Gabriel

List Price $549,000

3 bedrooms • 2 bathrooms

1,515 sf • 6,264 sf lot

We see a bit of a bargain here, a 1956 Ranch-style home on a nice street in one of our favorite under-the-radar neighborhoods: North San Gabriel. Pasadena and San Marino are only blocks away.

There are wood floors, a handsome fireplace, and sliding glass doors to a flat and spacious back yard. The lines on these Ranch homes are wonderful, providing excellent flow and a good use of space.

The house needs work, but at this price it’s well worth it. “Finished” homes of similar size in the area sell for considerably more — and quickly. Get this one while it lasts by contacting Tracy Do Real Estate.

Mid-Century Post and Beam in Pasadena

List Price $869,000

3 bedrooms • 1.75 bathrooms

1,894 sf • 9,433 sf lot

This is a very cool house in the desirable San Rafael Hills neighborhood of Pasadena. Feeling private and secluded, it’s close to Old Town and other shopping/dining areas. Really the best of both worlds.

Its Mid-Century modern traits include high, open-beam ceilings and huge windows where other homes have walls. The space is well thought out, so it feels larger than its approx. 1900 sq feet.

There’s wonderful indoor-outdoor flow and an abundance of mature trees surrounding this two-level residence. A wood burning fireplace, re-done kitchen, large two-car garage… it’s a post-and-beam jewel with a lot to offer. For a tour, contact Tracy Do Real Estate.

Big Plans for the LA River in NELA

From KCET and reporter Carren Jao: “The NELA RC (Northeast Los Angeles Riverfront Collaborative) is a(n)… effort to build an identifiable Riverfront District along an eight-mile stretch of the river. The district comprises all of Atwater Village and Elysian Valley and portions of Lincoln Heights, Cypress Park and Glassell Park.”

Curbed LA’s Adrian Glick Kudler calls it a “game changer,” and adds that the RC will also be looking into “bike and car sharing along the river, encouraging job creation that makes sense for the workers in the area, and ‘turning the district into a regional food hub,’ among many other efforts.”

This is wonderful news for residents of Glassell Park, Atwater Village and other great NELA neighborhoods, which were “hot” even before this announcement. Want to get to know NELA better? Contact Tracy Do Real Estate, a great place to begin your NELA home search or sale.

710 Fwy Extension Update

The proposed 710 Freeway extension could potentially impact neighborhoods across large swaths of NELA and the SGV, though to what extent is still a matter for debate. From the LA Times: “County transportation officials have released the final version of their analysis of alternatives for closing the so-called 710 gap between Alhambra and Pasadena… The MTA will hold three community open houses to share the report’s information.” The events are:

Jan. 23 at Maranantha High School, 6 to 8 p.m.

Jan. 24 at San Marino Community Church, 6 to 8 p.m.

Jan. 26 in the Golden Eagle Building at Cal State L.A., 9 to 11 a.m.
