Two homes we represented for sale in Mt. Washington last year are the subject of a nice piece in Dwell. They were designed and built by our client, Simon Storey of Anonymous Architects. We love his quote: “Building small but sensibly is essentially more sustainable than anything else you can do.”

Our Clients Featured in Sight Unseen
Our clients, designers by trade, bought and renovated a 2 bedroom home in the NELA hills last summer, right at the border of Mt. Washington and Glassell Park. Their custom furniture, artwork, and home interiors have just been featured in a delightful article in the online mag Sight Unseen.

Silver Lake, Reservoir, Views

Here’s our new listing in Silver Lake and it’s great; light and bright on a corner lot just up the street from the Reservoir. It gives you the feeling of being in a “compound,” surrounded by trees with plenty of privacy even though everything you want is very close by. More photos and a full description here. We’ll be open both days this coming weekend, 1 to 4 pm.

Small House with Big Upside
Check out this story in LA Times about our friend, the talented local contractor Todd Segal. Todd’s Highland Park residence is an ingeniously conceived, beautifully renovated cabin that’s nearly a century old and measures just 624 square feet. We’re in love with this house, especially because it proves that you don’t need a lot of space to have a whole lot of home.

LA is How Big? THIS BIG
Curbed has a fun piece that compares LA to other big cities in terms of our pure, massive size. We dwarf those other puny cities! Well, maybe not Shanghai…

Two on a Lot in Glassell Park
Start with how beautiful these two homes are. Refurbished top to bottom by Kenihan Design.
Now do some math.
At at list price of $849,000, your 20% down payment puts your mortgage at something like $4,000 per month (round numbers here).
What kind of rent do you think you could collect for the smaller of these two houses? $2,500 per month? More? And you’d live in the larger unit, a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with a detached studio.
A cool house, a great neighborhood, and a subsidized monthly mortgage payment. Contact us at Tracy Do Real Estate.
